  •   ECG Server Maintenance - Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007
    BANNER Student, BANNER Finance/HR, Web Intelligence Management Reporting, Kronos, Famis, InfoEd and Remedy will be unavailable on Sunday, February 11 from 7:00 AM until noon for software maintenance.

  •   UNHF and UNHD, the VMS to Unix bridge, will be unavailable on Sunday, January 7, from 7:00 AM until noon for hardware maintenance.

  •   A new VPN client is available for download off the USNH gateway page. Version “V06_01.102” is available via http://www.usnhgateway.org.soft.html#vpn with accompanying documentation. ECG strongly recommends downloading this client at your earliest convenience.

    PSU users should continue to use their own VPN clients.

  •   System Downtime
    FTS (the file transfer system) will be unavailable, Thursday, December 7 from 7:00 PM until 7:30 PM for software maintenance.

  •   In November 2006, Microsoft will include Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) in its update release. Many of the applications offered by Computing and Information Services (CIS) do not support IE 7, including BANNER Student, BANNER Finance/HR, BusinessObjects WebIntelligence, FAMIS, InfoEd, Kronos, Xtender, Exlibris and Blackboard.

    If you use any of the applications listed above, CIS strongly advises you not to download or install IE7.

    In order to assist clients with this potential issue CIS recommends installing the Microsoft supplied IE7 blocker, which prevents the installation of IE7.

    Please go to http://www.unh.edu/ie7utility/blockutility.html to install the IE7 blocker.

    Additional documentation regarding steps to take if the blocker is not installed or Internet Explorer 7 is installed is available at http://www.unh.edu/ie7utility/index.html

Or, you can use the Quick Links. To use the Quick Links, left click on the down arrow in the Quick Links box, move your cursor to the desired location and left click again.

     Welcome to the new Enterprise Systems Gateway page. ECG redesigned the page, with the help of several business partners, to simplify your access to key functions and information. Based on the majority of the feedback, we believe this has been accomplished.

  •   Gateway Redesign Announcement 04/17/06
     The Enterprise Computing Group (ECG) is pleased to announce the redesign of the USNH Gateway web page. While the URL and access to the Gateway page has not changed, you will notice an enhanced navigation system. The new Enterprise Systems Gateway page is completely menu driven allowing you to get to where you want to go with just one click of the mouse.

    ECG redesigned the page, with the help of several business partners, to simplify your access to key functions and information. We believe the page is highly functional and very intuitive. We invite you to explore the new navigation and we look forward to receiving your feedback regarding its functionality.

     There is a new version of the VPN client software used to access the administrative applications. If you have not downloaded a new client in the past two months please visit, http://www.usnhgateway.org/soft.html#vpn to download the latest client at your earliest convenience. Many users who have downloaded the latest client have reported fewer disconnects, faster response times and less freezing of forms in BANNER.

     We are actively working on an intermittent problem experienced by some users that causes their Banner application to crash. We are entering our second stage of proving a bug fix that appears to resolve the problem.     In November 2003, Oracle's 9i Application Server was put in place as a replacement to the existing front end of Banner for Finance and HR. This was required as a preliminary step to the implementation of Banner 6. Since the implementation of the new front end, some users have experienced ongoing problems with maintaining a connection to Banner. Please be aware we understand there is a problem and are testing fixes to address the situation. Please continue to report problems to the helpdesk with detailed descriptions as you experience them. Thank you for your ongoing patience regarding this issue. We expect to have a fix in place in the near future.


  •   All Banner Student databases will be unavailable on Sunday, January 18 for maintenance, beginning at 7a.m., for the entire day. The Oracle upgrade may potentially affect new connections to all other databases between 7-9am. The BANNER Unix cluster will be unavailable, Sunday, December 21 from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM for software maintenance.
  •   The FIS\HRS Banner forms environment has been upgraded to Oracle Forms 9iAS, Patch Set 13, as of 6:00 PM, Friday, November 14, 2003. The new forms environment includes a few changes from the existing OAS forms environment. Brief explanations on the notable differences can be found by following the "additional details" link on the HR and Finance Banner Gateway, home pages. Please note that existing bookmarks will need to be re-created.
  •   The Banner production Finance/HR instance, BPRD, and the associated training instance, BTRN, will be unavailable to the users between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, while they're updated to Banner HR Release 5.4.2(2003 Year-End US Regulatory Enhancements and Fixes).
  •   The Banner Student production databases - PROD and SLLP - will be unavailable between Noon on Friday, 10/17 and Noon on Monday, 10/20, as these systems are upgraded from Banner 5 to Banner 6.
  •   The BANNER Finance/HR front end will be unavailable on Thursday, October 9, from 7:00 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. for software maintenance.
  •   Sunday, April 13th
    The VMS cluster will be unavailable, Sunday, April 13, from 7:00 a.m. until noon for disk maintenance.
  •   Scheduled maintenance , to prepare for the late December Data Center move, will affect these systems on Wednesday, December 11th, from 6 - 9 p.m.:

  •   WebIntelligence will be unavailable on Wednesday, December 4, from 6-9 p.m. for an application upgrade. Also scheduled for maintenance at that time are systems Libra (Webforms), Spica (SIS Client/Server Banner), and Hemlock (SIS Client/Server Banner backup).

  •   Friday 10/4 - Monday 10/7 BPRD maintenance.
    The BPRD database will be unavailable from the morning of October 4th until the morning of October 7th for a Banner upgrade.

  •   Sunday 09/29 BPRD maintenance.
    The BPRD database will be unavailable on Sunday September 29, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, for maintenance activities.

  •   WebIntelligence Maintenance Scheduled.
    The WebIntelligence reporting environment will be undergoing system maintenance and will be unavailable all day on Monday, May 13th, to be available again on Tuesday, May 14th, with data as of 9:00 p.m. Monday, May 13th. (Jackie Snow)

    We are pleased that the cross-references for POAs and POBs that were converted from CUFS to Banner are now available on the Project FRESH Web site.   •   P-Card Managers. Tuesday, 1/22.
    We delayed the sweeping of P-Cards from last Friday night to tonight(Tuesday, 1/22) to give you extra time to review the P-Card records. Please take a look at your respective transactions and make the appropriate changes. Transactions with FOAPALs that are not changed will be charged to the default FOAPALS when they are posted tonight. (Nancy Gaskill)

  •   Attention P-Card Managers.
    There are approximately 2,400 P-card records with sweep dates of 1/18/02 that have not been reviewed yet. Please take a look at your respective documents and make any necessary changes. These documents will be charged to the FOAPAL defaults when they are posted Friday night. (Nancy Gaskill)


  •   BPRD Unavailable at 5 p.m. 01/03/2002

    The BPRD environment will be unavailable starting at 5 p.m. today (Thursday) to allow running a special process. The result should be that your internally designated funds should operate as expected when you log in tomorrow. (Alice Samuel)

  •   Banner Finance Open Session. 01/03/2002

    There will be an open session for any interested Banner Finance users on Thursday, January 3rd, from 9:00 a.m. to Noon in the UNH Durham MUB Theater II, at which time we hope to address common questions, concerns, training issues, approval routing, and other items of interest. (Ken Cody).

  •   Grant Billing Testing. 12/20/01

    The grant billing testing that started in the BTST instance of Banner Finance on Tuesday is done and posting has resumed. Sleep/wake has been turned on and any transactions that you may have entered since Tuesday evening have now been posted.

    Please be aware that more grants testing will be conducted this Saturday, December 22, 2001 which will require posting to be down again on Saturday. You will still be able to enter documents in BTST on this day; however, the transactions will not be completed until posting is turned back on.

  •   Data Mart Update. 12/17
    The MR2 production data mart is being updated to access data from BPRD. Access to the development environment is available during this time frame.

  •   Data Mart Update.
    The MR2 production data mart is being updated this week to access data from BPRD. The production data mart will be available again on Monday, December 17th. In the interim, access to the development environment is available through WebIntelligence.

  •   Testing.
    Once again, we need your help! We are requesting that all hands be on deck Wednesday, December 12, 2001 for a follow-up full system testing of Banner Finance from 2:00 to 4:00, with an effort to have as many users on the system from 2:30 - 3:00.

    On December 3rd, more than 270 users signed onto Banner, as well as the VPN, and exercised the system by processing a variety of transactions. Your participation in this test was extremely valuable and we would like your assistance again on Wednesday. Since the major focus of our efforts on Wednesday will be to test approvals, we need participation from each area throughout the university system. The BSC directors and campus coordinators have been asked to recruit as many testers as possible. If you are able to participate in the testing on Wednesday please contact one of the following individuals:

    Information on approvals processing is available in the approval appendix distributed with the training materials and is also available on the FRESH Web site.

    Similar to the last test, the VPN will be turned on in the early morning and you will be required to log into the VPN prior to signing onto Banner. Detailed instructions and transactions to be processed in BTST will be sent to the BSC directors and campus coordinators prior to the test.

  •   A new name! We now have a new address for this page, www.usnhgateway.org which will become the preferred address. It was selected to represent the multi-Campus nature of this resource. Please note that it ends in ".org".
