Manually Installing JRE 6 Update 10
To install via Banner, please see the section below.
JRE 6 Update 10 can be found on the USNH Gateway page in the
Software Download
section under Availability, Downloads & Support.
Download the file to your local computer. Double click on the file to begin the install.
Click Accept to continue on the Java Setup window.
You will then see the install status screen.
Click Finish to complete the install.
When you first go into Banner, you may see the following two
screens. Be sure to select
“Always trust content from this publisher” and select Run to continue. You should only
see these warnings once as
long as you have made this selection. In
some cases, these
Warning windows may be hidden below other windows.
Disabling Java Updates:
In the Windows Control Panel launch the Java applet. On the Update tab, deselect
“Check for Updates Automatically”. In the warning dialogue that follows, select
“Never Check”. Click Apply and OK.
Installing JRE 6 Update 10 via Banner
When first going to the URL, it may take several minutes to
be prompted to download
and install.
Right click on the yellow notification area and select Install ActiveX Control…
Again, wait several minutes. You will then see the following.
Select Install
Accept the license agreement.
You will then see the install status screen.
Select Finish to complete the install.
